BEFORE YOU BOOK

COVID-19 GUIDELINES

There are many changes in place to help minimise the spread of Covid-19, including current government guidelines that we must adhere to. 

APPOINTMENTS ONLY
Bookings must be made online where possible. 

TIMEKEEPING
Please arrive prompt at your allocated time, and please arrive on your own. As timings are very limited, if you are 10 mins late we may have to cancel your appointment and there will be a small cancellation charge.

WASH HAIR & NO PRODUCTS
Your hair must be recently-washed, with no hair products in.

MASKS MUST BE WORN
Please use your own face mask if possible, as we have only limited supplies

PRICES AND SERVICES
Some services are temporarily unavailable, and to reflect increased costs (PPE, longer service times etc), we have adjusted our prices accordingly.

HYGIENE & PPE
All staff will be wearing PPE, clean gowns will be used for each client and stations will be cleaned thoroughly after each client.

SKIN TESTS

Many clients will be due for a skin test and/or consultation, if you have not had one in the last 6 months you must call down for one (academy is open Mon-Sat), if you turn up for a colour/chemical service and you have not had a skin test with us you in the 6 months prior to your appointment, it will be refused and still charged.  If you wish to clarify your last skin test, text/Whatsapp the salon mobile on 07756263314.

If you or anyone in your household or work environment has had symptoms at any time, please cancel your appointment and self-isolate at home in accordance with published NHS advice. Booking an appointment constitutes understanding and acceptance of the above.

KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK

COLOUR & CHEMICAL SERVICES – do not include cut & finish service as standard, where required this is charged extra and if required must be booked along with your main service.

ALL COLOUR SERVICES
- Require a skin test at least 48 hours prior to the service, unless you are an existing client and have had a skin test in the last 6 months.  If you have not had a skin test in the previous 6 months then a particular service may be refused.

PRICES - all prices are "FROM", and may be subject to change following consultation or depending on length of hair.

NEW CLIENTS - All new clients MUST have a client consultation at least 48 hours prior to the service booked, especially if booking in with students. This is to discuss your requirements and for us to ensure that required services will not be too complex or advanced for students.  You can proceed to book in online but you must call in for a brief consultation.

CLIENT AGE RESTRICTIONS
- We have a minimum age policy at The Salon Leeds:
a) minimum 16 for all services with a trainee.
b) minimum 16 for all colour/chemical services.

TRAINEE SERVICES - Services by Trainees start at 10.30am, are always subject to availability and cannot start after 4pm. If no Trainee is available at your chosen/arrival time we will offer services by Stylists, in which case ‘Stylist’ prices apply.

All Clients should be aware that the Assessor/Tutor or supervising staff member has the right to:
a) Decide on the appropriate service to be offered in relation to the client’s requirements and the student’s abilities.
b) Decide or change the method by which the service is carried out.
c) Refuse admission to clients who are over 15 mins late for appointments.
d) Decline services where the Client’s requirements exceed the level or capability of the student working towards the Level 2 NVQ qualification.
e) Decline services where the Customer has not had a consultation or skin test as required.

AVAILABILITY OF SERVICES
- All services are offered subject to availability of staff/students.  In the case of trainees, this can vary as the academy offers flexible attendance.  Occasionally appointments may be subject to delays or cancellation, in these circumstances we will always try our very best to notify you as soon as possible, sometimes we may offer services with a Stylist (appropriate prices apply), or reschedule upon arrival.

REFUNDS - On completion of service we always check and confirm satisfaction by the client, particularly with Students.  Partial refunds may be provided at the Salon Manager’s discretion for Stylist services only but are NOT provided for ANY client service with a Student under any circumstances.

We respectfully ask that our clients remember that in the case of services with students, services may often take longer, and require some supervision or occasionally some correction.  We ask that when having services with Students, Clients do not ask for complex services, or do anything that puts the student under pressure.  Customers who may have specific needs are encouraged to book with Stylists and not Students.

DATA PROTECTION & CLIENT REGISTRATION - All new clients will be required to complete a treatment card following a consultation or prior to any service.  We can confirm that personal details are stored securely and used in line with the Data Protection Act, and are not passed onto any third parties.  All clients must register (and book) in their correct legal name, and notify us of changes (eg by marriage) so that we can maintain accurate and up-to-date records as legally required.

SERVICES BY STUDENTS – WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

The Salon Leeds is part of Leeds Academy For Hairdressing And Barbering (LAFHAB), which provides high quality NVQ training for hairdressers and barbers.  Training takes place upstairs, where students undertake theoretical training, and they are taught the various techniques for cutting hair, they then master and perfect this all using training heads.  

When students have reached a good standard and have gained confidence, they then progress downstairs to perform services on ‘real’ clients.  Services are undertaken here within The Salon Leeds, under the supervision of Tutors and qualified Stylists.

This process ensures that only the students that are ready for clients will be providing services in the salon, so you will receive a good service. Services by students cost much less, they can involve assessments with Tutors and may naturally take a little longer. But we encourage all customers to support our students where possible, this is helping the academy to train the stylists of tomorrow.

Clients can also have shampoo/conditioning treatments & blow-dry at no extra cost! 

FAIR BOOKING POLICY

In light of the significant increase in operating costs, we have implemented a Fair Policy, where reasonable fees apply in certain circumstances.

As part of the booking process, all clients will be required to provide payment details, nothing is charged at the time of booking, however fees may be charged as follows:

• Cancellation less than 48 hours before appointment: 
   30% of the booked service price
• No show (Client does not arrive (within 10 mins of the appointment time) and did not cancel): 
   50% of the booked service price.

We are asking all Customers to use our online booking service (Fresha) to manage their appointments, from here you can easily view, amend and cancel upcoming appointments 24/7.  
This is easier than trying to phone/email us.
